Fan culture inspires a lot of great clothing. The key is to be inspired by an idea, not to copy someone else’s protected artwork. Here is a practical approach.
Be inspired, do not copy
Characters, logos and film artwork belong to their owners. Selling them as your own product can cause legal problems. Instead, take the mood, such as dark, heroic or futuristic, and create your own symbols, colours and slogans.
Create original symbols and typography
Design your own emblem and lettering. A strong original mark is more valuable to your brand than a copied one.
Choose a limited palette
Two or three colours print cleaner and look bolder. Try black with one bright accent.
Prepare print-ready artwork
- Use vector files (AI, SVG, PDF) or high-resolution PNG.
- Keep text outlined and avoid very thin lines.
- Place the design with enough margin from seams.
Pick the right garment and print
Hoodies and tees suit large artwork. See the hoodie design ideas and sublimation printing explained to choose the method.
Test with a sample
Order one piece first to check colours and fit before a bigger order. Our guide to starting a clothing brand in Pakistan explains the full process.
